I have just recently been made aware of the fact that I share a name with a US Navy Ship. I am interested in finding any memorabilia from the ship. Any help would be appreciated. Robert....First off allow me to welcome you aboard...its good to have a zoomie or two around, because you guys are often very intelligent and can provide for some good scuttlebutt (that's navy jargon for shooting the s---, or gossiping)...hmmm, an antiterroism instructor, very cool indeed, and interesting as well...took a course or two in that area as part of Gunners Mate Gunner training in the navy.

Well, don't know that you haven't already checked out the ship's history forum, but if you haven't already it provides some interesting facts about Admiral Cochrane, his family and their Crest.

I live in Dallas, so we share a metroplex. I have ariel pictures of the Cochrane with the Destroyer Squadron 15, and escorting the USS Midway. I also have a video tape of the ceremony the Cochrane's crew had at our first annual reunion. As well, I have a few items taken off the ship before it was dismantled, but they probably only hold personal sentimental value. If your interested in seeing these items I can be reached at (214) 458-1865 or at This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.. Again, welcome aboard!

Howdy there, Mr Cochrane! I just wanted to reiterate all that cannon technician said before me! I was a sonar type, so I got some stuff from the sonar spaces as memorablia also, but as Sal said, this is just things that would probably be sentamental to me. However I am in Dallas also, so if so inclined, its 972-682-5623. Enjoy your tour of duty here on "The Pearl Of The Pacific"!

Hi Robert,
I don't live in Dallas, but I appreciate your interest. I would like to point you to the topic about renaming another ship Cochrane, and invite you to get involved in that venture.
My name is Richard Cooper, and I was also privledged to serve aboard Cochrane from 65-67.

Hey Marc,

Did you happen to look in the AC duct (the one with the round access cover)in the sonar office? I think I left a soda up there back in '87. ;-)

Steve
