The best two years of my life were from 1975 to 1977 when I had the honor to command USS Cochrane.I had the finest crew , Chiefs Mess and officer wardroom ever assembled . Getting ready for our deployment had its problems, but our Westpac was significant as well as extremely  enjoyable. My wife Mary Dady Clarity has just written and published my memoirs which includes a great chapter on our two years together in Cochrane. It is available on Amazon.com in paper and kindle formats. look in their biography section with the title "OLD SALT" For my shipmates: I would really enjoy hearing from you. Aloha Iron Mike Clarity (Honorary member of the Fleet Reserve)

She was definitely a ship that seemed to attract a great crew.  I made and still have many friends from my time serving on the Cochrane.  85-87
