Shipmates, if you are interested in obtaining a really good ship model, this looks like the place to get one from, go to their web site and take a look at the models, they appear to be first rate!
Be fore warned they are not cheap.

Representatives of the Charles F. Adams Destroyer Class,

I'm forwarding an e-mail from Captain Allred, former USS Towers crew member.
He would like to share some information regarding museum quality models for the C. F. Adams class destroyers. I'm sure that the minor differences in ship's configurations can be accommodated by the builder.

His e-mail is listed on this message if you would like to contact him directly.

Raymond:

I have made initial contact with a representative of the firm
Maritime Replicas, who has suggested that he would undertake a
production run of DDG-9 museum quality models for an approximate price
of $1000.00 per model, plus shipping and insurance. The length we
discussed was about 30", although smaller models might be a little bit
less expensive. Those interested can examine photos of other ship
models made by this firm at www.maritimereplicas.com. The company has
photos there of several frigate, destroyer, cruiser, and carrier models,
so prospective purchasers can see what kind of model they will be
ordering. The quality of their work is clearly of the highest order.

I suggest sending the following announcement to your USS TOWERS
mailing list, and to other ADAMS class shipmates. If you can find a way
to advertise this in the Ship's Store, and on other Adams Class Ships
Stores, we may find that many sailors are interested:

BEGIN

ADAMS-Class Cochrane shipmates! What better way to remember your
years aboard USS Cochrane than to obtain a
museum-quality model of your ship for your den or office?

A former USS TOWERS shipmate has learned that Maritime Replicas creates
museum-quality models out of brass, paints and details them with your
ship name and number, and delivers them to your door. You can examine
other models made by this company by visiting their website
www.maritimereplicas.com. A production run of Adams-class ships can
begin with a minimum of five orders, and each chip can be customized
with your ship's name and hull number. The estimated price per 30"
modelis $1000.00, plus shipping and insurance from the factory. (shipping by
sea to the west coast is estimated at about $100.00) These are beautiful
models that will last a lifetime and bring back great memories of your
years in the Navy! Go to www.maritimereplicas.com and order your model
today!

END

If you have the ability to feature photos on your email or web
page, here are some samples of the quality work this outfit will do. I
look forward to hearing from you and seeing what kind of response you
get to this announcement.
