Hey,
anybody out there that was a member of the first crew that commissioned her? The crewlist for plank owners shows entry, but anyone actively monitoring this forum? lets hear from you--Metsker, Yeoman

I'm the guy that turned on all the vent fans when they announced she was now in commission. It was supposed to sound like her first breath of life.

her first breath of life was enjoyed by one and all at the Crow's Nest. Many stories about that shakedown cruise. Remember the XO--J.D. Beecher?

Sure I remember him. I don't remember him being with us very long though.
Is there a story that you'd like to share?

I know he was there for two years because he made me his "project" in the ships office. I had to type the ship's bulletin every nite and my typing then wasn't the best. I got more purple on my whites than Akadama wine!--Dan

I guess I didn't realize he was aboard that long. You didn't see him out and about very often, or at least I don't remember it.
Maybe we should have stayed in Bremerton. Our blues didn't seem to show the Loganberry wine stains. They blended right in.
