If I could find my 68 cruise book, which I so carefully put up after Brownsville, I believe there is a picture that I took of the whale boat going out, with the chute visible in the picture...

I understood that he was waved off twice because of a foul deck and flamed out on his last approach. As I recall it, the A4 started to nose over and he ejected, but too low for his chute to open fully.

Were we not following the Enterprise in the plane guard position?
