VANNIE WAS MY NEXT IN LINE BOSS . HE LIVED IN TH SACRAMENTO CALIFORNIA AREA . HE WAS ON THE COCHRANE ABOUT AS LONG AS I WAS . GLEN LONG AND I WENT TO VISIT HIM WHEN WE GOT DISCHARGED . THE THING I REMEMBER MOST ABOUT HIM WAS THAT WE WERE ON WATCH TOGETHER IN THE "IC" ROOM . HE HAD JUST WON 2 BUCKS FROM ME IN A CRIB GAME . HE SAID HE HAD TO GO TO THE HEAD . HE CAME BACK ABOUT 15 MINUTES WITH 400 BUCKS IN HIS HAND AND SAID HE JUST HAPPENED TO FIND A CRAP GAME BACK IN THE SNIPE LIVING QUARTERS . HE BOUGHT A NEW WINCHESTER SHOTGUN IN HONG KONG WITH PART OF HIS WINNINGS OFF MY TWO BUCKS .
HE WAS A HELLAVA GUY AND A GOOD TEACHER . I LEARNED A LOT FROM HIM AND DO MISS HIM

I remember Vannie Cullum as having a really nice Corvair, 1963, gold that he took very good care of. He hung out with one of my guys, RM2 Murray. Sorry to learn of this.
