It's been a while since I looked at the site.
It was probably Whitter (the hound) that was with you. I was only an E3 at the time and couldn't afford a skivvy house! I think the EM club was called Fiddler's Green. I recall we had to get paid in scrip and then change it to Yen there. We were not allowed to have greenbacks in town....seemed pretty stupid! Damn carriers always screwed things up. I was supposed to spend a few days in Tokyo with a gal I knew in Yokosuka but the Kitty Hawk came in and they wouldn't let here off "duty". Talk about a babe! Her daddy was a Swedish band leader from the USO tours right after WW2. Half swedish and half Japanese. Tall, reddish hair and great hooters. I stayed with her the whole time we were in port in late 66 on the way back to the world after the Westpac tour.
I still like visiting Japan but haven't been back in 5 years.
kinda miss it!
