There are some things that I have thought about, and told people about that I would love for someone to verify to me that my mind hasen't made them up thinking that they really happened. I wonder if any of you have the same thing?

I remember once in Subic I think, someone up the street and beyond the bridge from Cochrane got angry and in an argument with a "young lady" and her brother, boyfriend, husband, etc.. I remember a bunch of us running to the bar and making sure he was ok. Actually, this may have been Japan. Does anyone remember this?

I recall that it was Romero in 68. It was in Subic. Seems he grabbed a feel from a "nice" girl perhaps thinking all the women were there to work in the bars. Her companion took great umberage to this and he was lucky to escape without injury. I remember working shore patrol in 66 and seeing a body brought back from one of the beaches with more than 50 puncture wounds. (not a Cochrane sailor). Apparently the sailor was out with one of the local girls at a beach and got in a scrap with a local and lost.Olongapo was a rough town then. It's a lot safer now!

I don't think it was 68 because I was home by then. I think it was 65 or 66.

Ski,
I think I was working medical guard on shore patrol that night too. If my memory serves me correctly, I think he was a pilot off the carrier. I remember that they didn't run him by our station, but took him right to the hospital morgue.
